The preface as altered runs as follows : We, the individuals of India having gravely made plans to Constitute India into a Soverign, Socialist, Secular, Democratic Republic and to make sure about the entirety of its residents Justice-social, financial and political, balance of states and opportunity and to advance among them all, Fraternity guaranteeing the pride of the individual and solidarity and honesty of the Nation. In our constituent Assembly the twenty 6th day of November, 1949 likewise therefore embrace, establish and give ourselves this constitution basic uties. Principal obligations were included without precedent for the constitution as : (a) To maintain the constitution and regard its goals and foundation the National Flag and the National song of praise. (b) To esteem and follow the honorable standards which enlivened our national battle for opportunity. (c) To up-hold and secure the sway, solidarity and honesty of India.
